About

Marlborough Heartland is a joint venture between the Marlborough Grape Growers Cooperative and the Hohnen and Clevely families.  David Hohnen, the founder of Cloudy Bay, returned to Marlborough in the early 2020s to seek a partner to work with to make outstanding, classical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc once again: he chose New Zealand's only winemaking co-operative as his source of supply.  The Cooperative's growers have some of the very best Marlborough sites for Sauvignon Blanc and Marlborough Heartland is a superb expression of these.  The range has now grown to include Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a Pinot Rosé.
