CW Wines came to fruition upon the 2014 purchase of a winery and vineyards in Coonawarra. Within a short space of time CW Wines has expanded rapidly and transformed into a diverse international wine business. Acquisitions and developments of further vineyards and wine brands has continued, culminating with the purchase of the Stonehaven Winery in 2021.
Stonehaven began in 1998 when Hardy’s commenced construction on the state-of-the-art winemaking facility. The facility now includes over 14 million litres of tank storage and a 4,000 square metre temperature-controlled barrel store that can hold more than 10,000 barrels. The winery is surrounded by 36 hectares of vineyards and features an architecturally designed cellar door set amongst towering red gums.
The revitalized Stonehaven winery processes grapes from selected family owned and managed vineyards across South Australia’s wine regions including the Barossa Valley, Coonawarra, The Limestone Coast, McLaren Vale, Robe, Padthaway and McLaren Vale. The flexible and efficient technology at Stonehaven ensures that the wines produced retain the aromas, flavours and characters that our growers and ourselves work so hard to cultivate in the vineyards.
As a certified sustainable, winery, wine business and grape grower, sustainable practices are key decision making factors through all aspects of our business.
The hand-crafted wines are all individually nurtured through the winemaking process to ensure the consistency and character of each vineyard and wine are captured and expressed through our extensive brand portfolio that includes, Stonehaven, Reschke, Ulithorne, Cape Barren, Schild Estate, Schoolhouse, Archery Road and Thompson Steer.
CW Wines also produces individual parcels, blends and custom specific wines for bulk export to markets across the globe.
